When a person or family adopts their first Puppy the first order of business is Dog Training Courses. Making sure your dog is well trained is very important. It allows for both the dog and owner to be happier. The reward system of training involves offering some type of incentive for correct behavior of the dog. A variation on the traditional reward training is called clicker training. Clicker Training involves getting a special clicker that you press when the dog does the desired behavior. At first you offer a food treat and positive feedback at the same time as using the clicker. You do this consistently in the beginning. After a while you do not offer the treat every time with the clicker, but the dog has learned that the clicker sound is positive and that they have done something good. I have personally used this method of training and found it very helpful.
Leash and Collar training is another type of dog training. In this type of training you get the dog a collar and let him/her get used to it. Once they are used to it you show use the leash to “correct” the dog or encourage the dog to demonstrate the desired behavior. Sometimes you might jerk the collar slightly to get the dog to follow the command at other times it might be more forceful. It depends on the situation and desired effect.
Each type of training works differently with different dogs. You need to tailor your training in a way that works for you and your dog.

A dog is a common pet of choice because of their high intelligence and because the make good companions. Dog training courses not only help you teach your dog proper behavior, but you can teach them to do tricks as well. Teaching your dog new tricks is a fun way to for you to interact with your dog. It helps them from getting bored and misbehaving, at the same time it gives them something new to learn, always a fun experience for dogs.
One of the most basic tricks that a dog can learn is to sit. First you “make” your dog sit while by pushing his hind legs to a sitting position. At the same time, verbally command him to sit. The first step in making a dog follow your commands is by making them realize what the command’s intended outcome is. Dog training courses rely on giving your dog something that it finds rewarding, so after your dog sits down, give him a doggie treat or a pat on the head.
Another basic command is to stay. You can teach your dog how to stay right after he has learned to sit. After your dog “sits” on command, refrain from giving him the treat just yet. Add the verbal command “stay” while walking away from him. Place your hand up as if you are showing the stop sign signal. Your dog should be able to learn to stay in this position, even though you are heading away from him. Once the dog learns that the “stay” command means that he should remain in position, give the reward after. Dog training courses work when they are followed consistently.

There is no doubt that dogs have a far superior sense of smell than humans. This, along with their high intelligence and ability to work with people, make them excellent sniff detectors. With the proper dog training courses, a dog can be taught how to sniff out contraband, such as drugs and explosives, in concealed places. Most police forces and establishments, such as shopping malls and airports, rely on dogs to detect these substances through the use of scent.

Dogs are highly intelligent animals that can easily be trained and disciplined. Most dog training courses are based on a positive/negative reinforcement method. Positive reinforcement is rewarding your dog after it has done a particular task that you have been teaching it. Rewards can vary from an affectionate pat on the head, to yummy treat. The idea is to make the reward more appealing to your dog, so that it will be willing to work hard for it. A show of good behavior and learning a new trick are some of the things that merit a reward so that your dog will delight in doing behaving and obeying.
Negative reinforcement on the other hand, is punishing your dog when after it has blatantly disobeyed your command or has shown behavior that you do not want your dog to repeat. Positive and negative reinforcement goes hand in hand for implementing only one method can result in a dog too dependent on rewards, or a dog that’s too afraid. The proper balance of these two elements is dependent on the desired outcome of the dog training courses.
A dog is a very social animal, due to their pack nature. In this form of social structure, the pack responds to a dominant figure, usually the alpha. It is important to be able to show your dog that you are dominant to it, and not the other way around. Dog training can be a fun experience for dogs and dog-owners alike. Teach your dog the basic commands such as “sit” and “stay” and these can be used as building blocks for other dog training courses. For example you can teach your dog to “give his paw” after he has learned how to sit.
To teach your dog how to respond to the “give your paw” command, first have your dog “sit”. After he has obeyed that command, take your dog’s paw while verbally commanding him to “give your paw”. After your dog has learned the “give your paw” command, you can teach your dog to “wave”. To teach your dog the “wave” command, first ask him to give you his paw. After he has done this, refrain from giving him a reward just yet. Pull your hand away while verbally commanding him to “wave”. Reward your dog for trying to reach your hand. For this trick, keep in mind that the objective is to keep your dog to try to reach your hand. This gives the perception that your dog is “waving” instead of him trying to put his paws into your hand. Remember to keep your hand at a reachable distance, as the key for dog training courses such as these require a lot more time and training than your other basic tricks.

There are many possible reasons why dogs bark excessively. In a land called “Dreamworld” puppies are cute and adorable little creatures that do not poop nor pee. Their only purpose in life is to make sad and brokenhearted people be happy again. Then again, as everybody may be well aware, puppies are so much more than that. In reality they are animals that require attention, care, love and of course maintenance. In this context, maintenance means feeding them, giving them shots and yes, picking up poops.
However, this should not prevent you from getting a puppy. They can still be an image of a perfect pet in your “Dreamworld” by simply house training dogs.
House training dogs is one of the first activities to engage your puppy in. Why so? This is because proper house training establishes their territory in your home. By guiding them where they can do their “thing” you can be sure that your puppy will stay out of your carpet if they have a choice.
Potty training can be initially tough. It requires time, patience and sometimes energy. You have to know that when a dog is being house trained you may need to take them outside at a minimum of 5 up to 6 times a day. Sometimes even when they are in the backyard already it will take them a couple of minutes to even half an hour before they defecate. Then again, house training dogs does not have to be this tough all throughout. It will get better as you both go along.

House training dogs and disciplining them is important to keep your house, specifically your carpet “poop” free. It makes use of conditioning and reward methods to help you communicate with your dog. For example, if you want them to poop in your backyard, you have to make it a point to take them outside whenever you feel that they have to go. After they are done, you should always reward them with food, a compliment or a pat to let them understand that you are happy for what they did.
House training dogs are ideally done during the following timeframes:
1. Early in the morning, during or before you make your coffee. This is because, while they were sleeping, their stomach was busy digesting the food that they ate. So just like their owners, the first thing that a puppy needs to do in the morning is to go to the bathroom.
2. After every three to four hours of being awake. Since they have relatively small stomachs, digestion and the need to defecate happens faster compared to older dogs.
3. Thirty minutes up to an hour after eating
4. And just before sleeping
House training dogs can be pretty challenging when you are just starting out. But as you go along and as your dog acquires the discipline that you want him to follow, all your hard work will be easily paid off. One last thing, no dog is too young or old to be house trained. So if you have an existing dog that has some bad bathroom habits, today is not too late to teach them some manners.
